Privacy Policy

TailMate (“we”, “us”) provides dog walking and social features.

Data we collect

• Account: email, display name, username, avatar.
• Content: dog names/photos, walk logs (distance, duration, timestamp).
• Location (optional): precise location while recording an active walk, including when TailMate is minimized or the screen is locked.
• Notifications: a device notification token when you enable push notifications.
• Connected services: identifiers and activity data required for integrations you choose to connect, such as Strava.
• Diagnostics: crash reports and basic analytics (if enabled).

Why we collect it

• Provide core features (log/track walks, stats, sharing with friends).
• Maintain account security and improve reliability.

Sharing

We don’t sell data. Friends you add may see items you choose to share. We use Firebase to host and process data.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Firebase provides encryption at rest.

Retention & deletion

Delete your account in-app (Profile → Danger zone), or request deletion at our account deletion page. This removes your account and associated TailMate data from our active systems. Limited backup copies may remain until the normal backup rotation completes.

Children

TailMate is for users aged 13+.
